Well, we just don't like most Bollywood movies. They suck. Big time.
Got it?

Well even the name "Bollywood" is not original.. wht do u expect.:)
If you hate bollywood so much...then why do you waste your time doing this? The directors are never going to do this...spend more time with your education...this site is amazing. With your knowledge you could do so much more then this crap content. Thank you for listening...just don't kill me.
I think its high time that you also talk about the plagiarism in the "poor cousin" of Bollywood......the Lollywood(double copycat...haha)...all this bcause i think that my friends in Pakistan DESERVE BETTER!!!
.......Keep Rockin'!!
I'm a full - fledged Indian born in India but studied in UK and I REALLY REALLY hate indian movies.
They suck big time and though everybody in my family watches them they have to stick a tape on my mouth in case i start swearing at the stupid actors or the scenes.
Bollywood does copy some Holly flicks - If someone did not read karl marx they would still have "communist" ideals within them. It is possible. Hollywood does not own stories, and i can imagine that many film-makers, such as Bhansali(Black), do not intend to plagarize. However, tough critics like to find similarities and put down hindi cinema. So what do you have to say about Pakistani dramas---all copied nicely from Hindi dramas?
Great job... am amazed actually. Guess if you can bring this out in the open, someday we can have worthwhile cinema pehaps?
Its a fact that every film industry does copy from others. Recently in an interview actor Richard Gere accepted that his recent film "Shall we dance" is taken from a french film. What about that? There are numerous examples like that in hollywood and other film industries across the world. In fact Gere even told that if the remake is properly done, its just acceptable.Stephen Spilberg"s "E.T" s image has a ditto similarity with some of Satyajit Ray"s work. In "Moulin Rouse" they have taken some of Bollywood"s song & choreography as well. Why not look into that?
I am not a Bollywood fan in any way.
I suggest, be fair - if you are against plagiarism, find & fight it where ever it is.
I agree that some Hindi films are copy of foreign films. However, it does not suck. It entertains a million plus people.
Take your beatings on Paki films. They suck twice bad - the actors, acting and everything!!
Bravo Gentlemen
YOU FINALLY DID IT
Hey, ever thought why these bunch of director's copy a hollywood idea? The reason is pretty simple, Most people in and around India are not English speaking lot. Don't these guys deserve a part of the world class flick. Beside, Hollywood if it releases its flicks in HINDI nobody will think of copying them. Hollywood by ignoring 20% of the world population deserves this.
The problem is not in Plagarism but the problem is not acknowledging the fact that the story was inspired by someone else. The story was a brainstorm so to speak of someone else not of the indian story writter. So why not give the due credit to the person from whom the film was inspired.
Why do you bother about bollywood..
if you can enjoy bollywood movies enjoy it otherwise shut your mouth...
No one minds from where it come, everyone minds whether it has entertained you or not....
I feel the same principle follows hollywood also....when you see any movie you will not think , is it copied or not...
whether its bollywood or hollywood market should be there thats it...
you better do onething watch every language movie in the world and try to compare each other...
if in any movie mother cries for a child or if they show sunrises in east...and post that this is copy of and give the sequence....
Ha Ha Ha,
I read a article somewhere about ur website and i was so thrilled to see the constructive critics, but you are just the bunch of kids who envy the success of bollywood. Well by the way seems u can design good websites. Try and get ur enrgy converted to something constructive. This is crap. And by the way every one kne2w about this copy thing...
Your site may be an eye opener, but the fact is that you guys are destructive and infact the mentality of your whole country is destructive rather than constructive. You guys always live in the shadow of india and depend on everything indian to prove your existence. You just love to criticise and that the fact. Indians have never invited you to analyse our potentials and give us a feedback.
It's ok to some extent to be the first one to copy, but you people start to copy the copiers, that's quite sad. (Hint, hint- Lollywood)
cool...about time someone let the cat out of the bag..
Oh my god! Forgive these people they don't know what they are doing? They are not into studies, sports, and anything productive. theya re just into jehaad and talking shit about people. Allah Willing
well.. u'r site is good ..
plz tell me where did u get the idea of making such a great site and tell me if u have also copied..
Well if Bollywood sucks then you wouldn't have wasted so much time and energy on something that sucks!!!
I heard Hollywood is copying the hit flick 'Aankhen' to make '3 Blind Mice'. Will you put that up too?
Its a good informative site made with deabtable intention. Eventhough bollywood films are copycat, they are much more appreciates through out the world. Though Bollywood movies are banned in Pakistan, they are highly get sold in pirated or smuggled version. Pakistan film industry is died because of bollywood. Paki's people prefer watching bollywood movies on VCR, VCD's or DVD instead of going to theater to watch useless Pak movie. i.e why now a days Pak theator owner's ass is on fire and shouting at Parvez to remove ban from Bollywood movies.
Hey,
Enjoy the movies and stop dissecting them. Who gives a rats ass if they are plagiarised or not. That's why the movies are also called as flicks. As long as the movie entertains people, cool, else sucks.
Get a life.
If you don't like Bollywood movies then why do you make such a big deal out of it..everybody cheats at one point in the life so why do you care so much...
Guys get over it. if u say these movies r copy cat then also list the original and best work of directors
u made some of the finest director look cheater's
so be fair on both end
anyways best wishes for my side
Yeah,
I really liked this idea of revealing the copy cats of Hindi Movies. These are the people who without brain to think, simply copies everything from hollywood
But my dear dude there are 'n' number of good movies made in Hindi which are worth watching like Waqt,Hum Paanch,Deewar,Naya daur,Devdas,Hum Apke Hai kaun,Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge etc.., to name few.
Just go after this so called creaters of Hollywood too who makes movies of world saving and all other bloody stuff.
There is good & bad everywhere.Use you brain to see the other side of coin
if you dont like bollywood movies and why the hell do you watch them??
who is asking you to watch the movies..go and spend your time watching those emotionless crap hollywood movies...
Your answer hear is full of hate, i would have rather said that i like originality and promote originality.
As far as bollywood movies are concerned, 90% are yuck, but few are really awesome, and you must give them that credit. All the copied movies are also not that bad always. Many a times it provides the desi audiance the same stuff in their cultural environment.
But its grossly wrong on directors part not to give any credit to to the original.
look dear, what people make and sale is what customer like, well it is ok that we copy hollywood's nice movies but u know the plus point of this so many of us havent watch hollywood movies or not understand movie in english in that scenario our Bolywood doing nice job. and they are quit successful in there motive, hey everybudy speak, weeb, lough so do u think they copy each other come on, leave the world as it is as it like to go, be part of it, i think u can not keep urself out of the world, i hope u got what i mean to say... thanks God May Bless You n fill ur life with success....
take care
Abhishek
You Pakis have a serious problem. The problem is you are jealous about India and just about everything that India makes.Atleast the world is noticing us in the right sense nowadays.Ys definitly the world is also noticing Pakistan, but all the world has got to say is you will be a failed state by 2015.You seem to be very intelligent, looking at this site. You better use the same intelligence to do something creative instead of criticizing bollywood. Also I can give you another idea,do you know that quite a few Hollywood movies are lifted from Euorpean movies. After seeing this site i feel you can also make use of your time to create another website which will talk about Hollywood copying euorpean movies.
The music is hugely popular in its own right. Bollywood's leading composer, A.R. Rahman, is reputed to be the biggest-selling artist of all time. "According to some standards, he has sold over 150 million copies of the albums of the movies that he writes the songs and the scores for, which would put him above the Beatles, any Britney Spears, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra," said Corliss.
A big moment for Bollywood was when the 2001 American film "Moulin Rouge" featured a techno-music remix of the hit Bollywood song "Chuma Chuma."
Man as i said go get a job if u have any talent.
Hi, Just wanted to give my opinion - a good movie is a good movie. Doesn't matter who wrote it, made it and who copied it. If its a copy and hurting the business of the original, it will be sued for those reasons by producers of original. If its not sued, then probably its not hurting the business of original. And it still remains a good movie for viewers. So, whats the point ? Do you verify whether each and every Hollywood movie is an original before watching it ? There may be lots of surprises there as well !
You Pakis should quit being hypocrites and look at your own country's film industry, which makes exact replicas of Bollywood films.
Listen, criticising India won't make Pakistan any less of a failed state.
you pakis are obsessed with bollywood movies. You secretly love bollywood movies, you are just afraid to admit it..Common admit it.. he he he ..
Luv your site though.. great job..
Bharath - Moyal and Manish---
your fathers talk to your mothers in the same manner thats is where you learned such filthy language. Dirty language is also a feature of Bollywood films that is another thing they copy from Hollywood.
i appreciate wat u hav come up with people, i used to wonder y doesnt anyone do anythin abt it? bollywood movies wont get an oscar unless they start making original movies and not pure rip offs from hit hollywood movies. i was shocked to see tht even lagaan was a copy. its true tht other film industries do copy but thts nothin compared to wht bollywood does. rip offs dont deserve any awards.
Hollywood film studio 20th Century Fox will remake a blockbuster Bollywood movie about a thug who enrolls in medical school to win back the confidence of his father, the film's producer said on Wednesday.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra, a well-known writer, producer and director, said he has sold the rights to the 2003 hit comedy Munnabhai MBBS to the US film studio, which will release it under the title Gangster MD.
Chopra, who co-wrote the screenplay with director Rajkumar Hirani, said that he would be an executive producer for the Hollywood version.
He said it was the first time a Hollywood studio had bought the rights to an Indian film, but declined to discuss the terms of the deal. Details about the US version were not available. The Hindi-language movie received rave reviews in India and was a success among South Asians living abroad.
The dialogue was so popular that crowds at cricket matches in India and Pakistan last year were heard shouting the rough Mumbai gangster lingo of the character played by popular actor Sanjay Dutt.
In the movie, Dutt portrays a thug who pretends to be a doctor so he won't disappoint his parents, who often visit him from their nearby village and think their son has made it big. Chopra has directed seven Indian movies. His debut documentary on Bombay's street kids, An Encounter With Faces, was nominated for an Oscar for the best short film (nonfiction) in the 1980s.
He is currently preparing for the worldwide release of the Hindi-language Parineeta - The Married Woman in June, which focuses on the different perceptions between genders about love and commitment.
Hindi language films are widely watched all over Asia and the Middle East, and by Indian migrant communities around the world particularly in Britain and the United States.
SUCKERS!!!!!!!!
dear Hemant,
Hindi movies are watched world over by an audience may be bigger than Hollywood movies because
1) These people can relate to the characters in these movies.
2) These movies provide them with some escape from their own environment like japanese or arab.
there are some other reasons too. BUT, that doesn't mean that hindi movies in general doesn't suck. Some times you have 2-3 movies coming out with same stories or copies of same hollywood movie.
Anyways situation is looking up now, as bollywood is not controlled by a few bigshots. A lot of new blood has joined in each department of movie business. This generation got sick with the staple diet of bollywood movies with same tepid story lines and formulas and decided to put new ideas into practice. I.E. If one of us got a chance to make a movie we would know what not to do.
I have great hopes on this new generation of writers and directors.
Bye
I am worried to see that most of the comments against your work (of informing about plagiarization in Indian cinema)is against you. Most of us Indians cant stand criticism even when they're right and aimed at improving us.
Plagiarization is a untouchable act in the Western academic world. This discouragement helps growth of original ideas. But at the same time, researchers are encouraged to look at others' works for inspiration/brainstorming. People are prompt in acknowledging such inspirations and due credit is given to borrowed ideas. But when we dont give credit to such inspirations/brainstorms and try to pass our largely borrowed work as original, we appear ungrateful, hollow and deceitful.
Many of the great works in art, painting and cinema have been inspired and the creators have been honest and gracious enough to accept their respective inspirations.
My request to Indian cinemamakers is to urge them to take themselves more respectfully and promptly give credits to their sources of inspiration. This will not make them any less creative but definitely a lot more credible.
People sometimes try to keep themselves busy, atleast they pretend so, as you must have heard "Khaali dimaag shaitan ka ghar!" (I hope you understand other than English). In no way am I trying to defend Bollywood, but I am having a grievance against Pakistan too. Well what about the legendary band "Junoon" ? No plagiarism I believe, superb performers, but Pakistan went after their asses for quite a while (it chases its own people down the gutter), precisely to the point of no return; and yes, it is always said that "Plagiarism also needs brains." - "Nakal ke liye bhee akal chahiye!" and without this plagiarism only Bollywood has given some better(and to your sheer horror--ORIGINAL) films, some superb plots that even Hollywood cannot dream of--well, how's this? Can Hollywood recreate the anguish of "Deewar"(Amitabh Bacchan, Shashi Kapoor, Nirupa Rai)? The Modus Vivendi of "Anand"? What about the frolic of "Chupke Chupke" and "Golmaal"? (Have you watched all this? I bet you don't do things right!) Well, thanks but no thanks, because we do not need your enlightenment! In due course of time, we will discover it all for ourselves. And if you are so desperate, please do not trouble others for their research work on movies (ISN'T IT A SHAME THAT YOU ARE ASKING THEM TO WATCH MORE HINDI MOVIES? WHAT AN IRONY?), you may hire plenty of men in your country(all free) and sit to do the job, do not spread the crap all over, it will only backfire, Right? And yes, one last word. When what I want is sheer(you may call it cheap or whatever but that does mean that you have watched it yourself) entertainment, I will prefer a decent Bollywood flick(copy is no problem) over seriously genuine but absolutely rotten and bullcrap movies like Terminator3, Jeepers Creepers or Matrix Revolutions.....(the list is endless)!!!
I don't care whether Bollywood copies from Hollywood or not but I agree with ya - 99% of bollywood movies suck, and the saas-bahu soaps shown on cable tv suck even more.
The author of this site forgot that Indian movies are very popular in Pakistan although they are banned by Musharraf (and Afghanistan, and Iran etc.)
Look at your Lollywood first before commenting on others especially Indians.
why dont you pakistani do something productive like go search for osama bin laden?
EVERYONE COPIES?... HELL YOU MUST HAVE COPIED THIS FROM SOMEONE THEN.. FUCK OFF!
Its embarassing to hear fellow Indians making asses out of themselves defending Bollycrap. Too bad the monkeys fall back on the old India-Pakistan rivalry without facing the fact the Bollywood sucks ass like no other. When Pakistani movies become popular and maintain the same low standards as their Indian counterparts...I'm sure they'll be called on it. Till then zip it and accept the fact that Indian movies are a national embarassment aimed at the lowest common denominator. Ugh
GO VISIT THIS SITE:

Cant believe the comments of some ppl.they actually r trying to justify these rip-offs..copying ideas is onething than blatantly ignoring where they came from is another..not only that but nearly every film and the crappy song dance routine are stolen too!! by the way pak cinema is a load of crap and doesnt thus claim to be something big and wonderful as does bullshitwood!!they make soo much money on producing cheap crap..and if someone in US/UK and most of the world, can think of original ideas why cant some1 in india do the same..ezz..bcoz indian writers r talentless, and totally abhorrent creeps!! i dunt think i have eva seen sum1 so blatantly copy sumone else and than still have the nerve to call it their own work!!
Hello,
Go watch a program on GEO channel, "mei khayaal hoon kisi aur ka"... comes friday night.
There u will come to know how many movies exactly india have copied from pakistani movies., including the songs.......
We accept it we copied ...y u r not accepting it that 90% of the indian movies are copied from Hollywood, & The songs are copied from Pakistani, arabic pop music.
I appreciate indian qualities in PROPAGANDA, you are very good at it
propagating a wrong image of Pakistan, whereever u get a chance, go see some Pakistani channels & u came to know that the extremism u talk about in pakistan, hardly exist....
All the people who hate ur site, are not creative. Because, if they are creative, they would understand the importance of being creative.
I like your site. Bollywood produces hundreds of movies an year, and you know what? The good movies these optimistic people are naming can be counted on fingers! I am sure no one has hundreds of fingers!!
I believe that copycats should be exposed, but this site amused me. The envy of India and Indian movies is quite obvious.
Bollywood is making money my friends, they are big time. They cannot thrive on copycats. They are making some brilliant stuff... Copycats are the bad guys and they will slowly die out, thanks to sites like yours.
Hi,
I am sure the creator of this site is bloody pakistaani. These people neither can create good movies and when bollywood is creating they try to criticize every bit of it even if it is a master piece. Movies r to watch n enjoy, y the hell are you concerned about this bloody Paki. Dont forget bollywood has the largest viewership in the world and all the people r not fools like you are. All pakistani's watch n enjoy indian films but due to envy and jealousy they are ashamed of saying they like it.
U bloody mother fucker pakistaani..y r u not posting any comments now a days...u getting lots fucking scolds or what...put my previous comments if u hav any daring maadrchod.
We have discussion with our friends. The topic : Indian Movies are coiped by other langues.
I told my friends every body copied from others.
They told that Hollywod and others didn't copy our movies.
Can you help on this because I didn't see much english movies.
if you know any movies, let me update?
maadarchod
well guys i think this site is about films which have been copied from hollywood hits. well nobody is underestimating or understating the achievements of some of our great film directors and their exploits. you cannot shield your self by stating that paki industry is also coping our films, you cannot protect the uselessness of some of our film makers and directors who make a frame by frame copy of hollywood movies. getting inspired is one thing and totally hijacking another persons idea or creation is another thing, if anyone wants to create a hollywood movie in hindi then why the hell he is not giving a credit note to the original movie.
atleast our 5000 crores film industry do not deserve to be known around the world as copycats only because of some directors without any idea of their making read copying movies which has been sucssfully made by someother person.
creator of this website should be encouraged and he deserves our kudos instead of some of the above posted baseless sentimental allegations.
only some westernized indian films are somewhat copied, not the typical indian films depicting the indian culture.Only educated, open minded westerners can enjoy indian films. Watch a good indian movie(and i dont mean some cheesy love story). Watch earth, chandni bar, company, dor, and rang de basanti, lage raho munna bhai. Then say indian movies suck. You wont say it after watching those movies.
I dont see why the issue about plagiarisation should end up as an India Pakistan issue. The fact of the matter is that the bollywood producers are steeling other peoples work and passing it as there own. Not only are they insulting the intelligence of those who know what they are doing but they are exploiting the inability of millions who do not have acces to foreign films or cannot understand the the language of the original work. In the process they are amassing huge wealth coming from the pockets of poor people on one hand and posing as "artists" and "creators of masterpieces" on the other hand. There are people who take pride in their national film industry not realising that they are being cheated by those who are taking the "real" artists credit. To do this to a geniune believer of national pride is most unkind.
I have visited this site for the first time I notice an expression ofextreme hatred for Pakistan from many contributors. I dont see the reason for this at all except that perhaps some of our fundamentalist Hindus have an inborn hatred for Pakistan and who would not like to see it on the map of the world. This totally unnecessary. It is a fact that the language used in the so called Hindi movies is Urdu but the fanatic Hindus are not preparedto accept that. This borne out by the fact that all the good story and song writers have been muslims. If you still doubt that ask the Professors at the London Unversity's School of Oriental and African Studies where both Urdu and Hindi are taught. Is it not time that we all grew up shed the smallness of our minds. Running down the Pakistani films and dramas are a result of the same mentality. there is no comparison in the sophistication of Pakistani Dramas and even some films that comes from better language and culture. if still in doubt name three Hindi poets of any stature or repute. May be Pakistani filmakers are also plagiarising but how does that mitigate the offence of bollywood who claims to be the biggest fim industry of the world?
Ya it sucks bad!!!! we can see a complete copy of hollywood these days... complete cultural degradation... destroy india within.
Hey dude just read this .... and u shall be answered ...
http://worldofavid.spaces.live.com/default.aspx
its amazing combined effort BOLLYWOOD
-LAST MAN OF INDIA
KANPUR
old movies were great, i liked a lot, but after 90's all movies suck... really
ONLY THOSE PEOPLE COPY WHO ARE INFERIOR AND LESS TALENTED AND BOLLYWOOD IS THE EPITOME FO EVRYTHMG THAT IS INFERIOR.IT SUCKS BIG TIME.ITS NOT THE ACCEPTED WAY OF MAKING MOVIES.THESE MOVIES CANNOT EVEN STAND BEFORE IRANIAN MOVIES OR CHINESE MOVIES LEAVE ASIDE HOLLYWOOD.NO COMPARISONS BETN HOLLY AND BOLLYWOOD.HOLLYWOOD IS AT LEAST 10 YRS AHEAD OF THESE SUCKERS IN EVERY MATTER.SOMEONE HERE HAS POINTED OUT THAT AR REHMAN HAS SOLD 150 COPIES.ARE YOU MAD ? IF HE WOULD HAVE DONE THIS HE WOULD BE AS BIG AS ANY OTHER INTERNATIONAL MUSICIAN.SOME GUY HERE HAS ALSO SAID THAT EVRYBODY COPIES NOTHINGS WRONG BUT ASSHOLE IF COPYING WAS GOOD THEY WOULD HAVE ALLOWED IT IN SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES ITS COMMON SENSE
I am from India and I will say that Bollywood sucks big time. Bollywood is based on copying movies and music from all over the world. Bollywood has gone beyond Hollywood and is now copying from countries like korea, China, Brazil, Dominican Republic... its crazy. To simply say that oh look at lollywood that stupid, why divert the argument, that only shows that Bollywood lovers have admitted defeat. Bollywood sucks end of all points. Someone here accused Pakistani Dramas, Pakistani Dramas have originality, they do not copy Indian Dramas. Indian dramas are copied of Pakistani dramas. I have seen Indian Dramas that had entire scenes copied from Pakistani Dramas. Movies like Hum Tumharay Hain Sanam and Chal Meray Bhai were total copies of Pakistani dramas. Movies like Chaal Baaz and even the block buster Hum Aap ke Hain kaun were copied from old Pakistani movies. Music... we steal from pakistan so much its Pathetic. Bollywood sucks major....
Can i have a link which could give me a list of Music directors and the songs that they have copied...
Also I wish to know if A.R.Rehman has copied any songs...
Hello, Om Shanti,
copying and plagiarizing is not so much an issue if the copy is GOOD .... As a french citizen I have seen many of our cinema masterpieces adapted by Hollywood (be it only because they need to have their own actors to ensure local success), but some of those copies (which never failed to credit the original by the way) where actually quite good ....
One point with the Indian movies is the assumption that the viewer is stupid or retarded, like the overacting of the characters (see ?? SHE IS SAD !!! See ..?? SHE IS WORRIED !!! Got it...?? HE IS ANGRY !!!) and the clichés (like the macho poses, the good looks, the haircuts, the many clothes, the funny friend etc ..) and the LACK OF IMAGINATION in the plot ...
Fact is that it is difficult to watch an indian movie without your intelligence feeling insulted .... and yourself feeling annoyed: "Oh ... in this choregraphy they are just blatantly taking inspiration from Michael Jackson or Mc Hammer's ones or from the US rap scene" and pretending they are the real ones ....
Now this is strange : India-Bharat is both the country which provided to the world the greatest and deepest spirituality and the country which has now the top notch IT intelligence ...
As well you can see, they have mastered the western movie making techniques and tools ... SO HOW IS IT, THEY CANNOT COME WITH SOMETHING POWERFUL OF THEIR OWN .... ??
Most probably because it is not the right people that are in the right positions ... You probably need your "nouvelle vague" (movie new wave) of fresh people and fresh ideas ...
Chris
