Both movies based on the same concept where the girl falls for one guy's personality and words, and another's looks.

Renu sent in this brief plotline:

"Love triangle. Artistic and shy boy impresses girl. Girl loves Artsy Boy. Big Stud Boy loves girl. Stud boy confesses to Artsy Boy. Artsy boy - so self sacrificing - decides to forgo his love for Girl, so that Stud Boy can parade as him and win the girl."

As a side note, Roxanne was adapted from the French "Cyrano de Bergerac".
