Koi Mil Gaya a bollycat of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
The story revolves around this differently-abled grown-up who's actually just a kid inside, someone you might recall being similar to "Forrest Gump". And then there's this fake looking alien who's left behind by his galaxy-surfing intelligent kind that comes in a fake looking saucer that responds to musical tones, just like Close Encounters. He gives the kid special powers, like a grown-up's brain. Not remarkably the Alien can jibe in both English and Hindi.

After watching Koi Mil Gaya, I sincerely thought that it will flop miserably as the production values were mediocore. But Indians were taken aback by science fiction & Rakesh Roshan was smiling all the way to bank! Spielberg, are you listening?
its crap....most of it isnt even true...
It was a copy of E.T. Even Hrithik and rakesh roshan said it in an interview. But Hrithik's acting was just brilliant. See that is what makes bollywood popular as well. Unlike u jobless people who can't find a work.
Moyal is right. Paki filmakers have also copied stuff from Indian movies. For example, the title, "Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman"
Has anyone else noticed that the musical notes played to find the aliens is none other than "Planet Rock"!WAHAHAHAHAH!
Though it was a copy of E.T. but the acting of Hritik can't be ignored. He was fabulous. In e.t. the child was a mature one but here it was a mentally retarded person struggling with the whole world.I think Rakesh Roshan has did a good job.
It is very good film. Hrithik has given a outstanding performance.
really a bull shit movie.
For those who say this was a bullshit movie: How many hollywood actors can pull off what Hrithik Roshan did? I thought it was a brilliant movie and Hrithik was extra brilliant, as for being copied from FOREST GUMP? puhhleez!!! There was a slight resemblance to Flowers from Algernon and I think that's where the similarity ends......
E.T. was itself a rip-off of the Bengali Indian director Satyajit Ray's 1967 script for the cancelled film "The Alien". In other words, Koi Mil Gaya and E.T. are both rip-offs of another Indian script (The Alien).
I happen to step into my friend's appartment when the movie Koi Mil Gaya was playing. I saw that Hritik Roshan was trying to act... and act a weirdo like Russel Crowe in Beautiful Mind. I asked my friends if that movie was a copy of Beautiful Mind. He protested. After a while I figured out that the movie was cheap copy of E.T. I left my spellbounded charmed friends and promised to come back when the movie will be over.
Wow Jagger,
Spielberg could read bengali... Who knew?!
