Hum Tum a bollycat of When Harry Met Sally
This BollyCat was submitted a staggering 20 times before we got around to list it. But just as a note, we had already known about this one and were simply too lazy to put it up.
Anyway Abhishek provided the most descriptive description: "The protagonist [and his interest] keep meeting with long breaks in between. When they try to fix each other up with their friends, both their friends actually fall for each other and get married. They also have sex after which the guy feels guilty and they separate only to be united later. Too many similarities I guess."
Kuldeep Jiwani says that "the whole concept and sequence of events matches from the Hollywood movie." While Pravin M. notes that it's a "complete copy.. pair repeatedly drift apart and meet again over a span of 10+ years to become friends and finally fall in love with each other."
Bops (is that really your name?) adds that "even though the movie is good its still a RIPOFF." A few others share his feelings.
Thanks also to Irfan (our original submitter), Anon, Anonymous[!], Sachin, Seven Samurai, Smart, Rajesh, BollyBaddie, Reena, Rajesh Shetty, Sachin, Sidhartha Patnaik, Madhu Sudhan Reddy, Arati Prasad and Suresh Vaddigiri. (Phew!)
And in an "another" interesting twist, Jhoomur says that the opening sequence is a straight lift from "Before Sunset". He adds that "the premise of the story is also the same, almost...Yash Chopra and Co. later 'twist' the tale to suit the desi box office." But dude, that movie came out the same year as HT...!?! Or did you really meant "Before Sunrise"?

ok come on!
This is an age old storyline that gets repeated over and over again.
Is think it's a bit rich saying its a direct link.
God I love this site, such a good bollywood reference site. I now have 10 films I want to see
Ok So what if Hum Tum is LOOSELY BASED on WHMS it does not mean hum tum is a rip off. I personally liked hum tum way more than whms. P.S You should not call it plagiarism as they obviously had permission to BASE it loosely on WHMS or else Kunal Kohli would have been sued 3 years ago
